Climate change, a red herring for the world
Climate change is something that acts as an enigma and really fills our impending future with uncertainty. It's only now with the resurgence of figures like Greta Thunberg, a petite 16 year old who has taken it as her life's mission to reach out to people and spread the word regarding climate change. Her outspoken and vocal advocacy has brought world leaders to their knees, making them come up with strategies.Another firebrand proponent of climate change has been the famed actor Leonardo Dicaprio. It is scary to think that the weather and seasonal fluctuations will wreak havoc into not just our ethos but our daily lives as well. It is but an odd that we will have to surpass. in the coming years.
The repercussions of climatic changes and with the onset of global warming has raised the temperature of the Earth's core, making it really hellish to live in conditions which were once deemed very rainy or snowy. Alas, Bangloreans are never going to relish the intensity of the pouring rains and the warm feeling of Petrichor.
When scientists crunch their numbers and get to the prediction basis of it, it kind of throws the whole climate issue thing into question. This is where a voice needs to be raised, walls have to be built(now I'm relying on Trump's methodology sadly)and adequate filtration methods have to be adopted. I can attest to the fact that chemical emissions, oil spills and factory leakage have escalated the noxious fumes and greenhouse gases responsible for climate change. Based on the current trends and demographics, even coming up with a sustainable climate change model seems a little far fetched.
Trying to factor in all the aspects primarily responsible for it,seems rather moot now(since its all been tried and tested but to no avail).
Greta Thunberg's speech at the UN(United Nations) headquarters is a teachable lesson to all of us who aren't doing our bit but rather placing all our hopes on a prodigious girl, only hoping that it would work in our favor. She is a school dropout and is channeling all her acuity and energies towards the betterment of the world. With her vast social media presence and excellent PR skills, there is no doubting what this young genius will accomplish. She really did get the better of us, so to speak.
The alarm bells are ringing, chiming and tolling. The time has come for us to abide by the Geneva Conventions and also place our faith in the international scientific community. I am a realist and do believe that gratifying this cause in the hands of nature is the only course of action left to us.Let nature take its course. Massive heaps of garbage, improper waste disposal systems and not to mention that a cavalier attitude towards how all this boils down to climate change is just alarming. A system has too be put in place and waste management should and must become an indispensable part of our curriculum. Strides are being made in this direction but are we going to reap the benefits? Only time will tell. The fate of the world hangs in the balance and climate change is but a testament as to how unprepared we are. Non-essential and essential work force fight to establish a cohesive climate model.
Leonardo Dicaprio is one of the most commanding voices in the climate milieu and has lent his voice at various UN speeches urging to establish normalcy, which our world is in dire need of. It defines us.
From the ravaging and fiery infernos of Australia's bush-fires to the Uttarakhand floods and even to the Bhuj earthquake, these are a series of fleeting emotions and bereaving families which cannot be measured on any Richter scale. the pandemonium associated with natural calamities affects all of us and we are at stake here. These have not just played into our psyche but has also left a void, in what I like to call Earth.
The root of it all being the rise of CO2 and greenhouse gases in the Ozone layer. With polar ice caps melting and glaciers melting, these are a series if infinite domino effects which is a morbid portent for the immediate future.Perhaps all we need right now are clenched hands in solidarity and brotherhood, a few giant leaps towards bettering mankind and mascots like Thunberg and Dicaprio who are eloquent and evocative in speaking their mind. With inconsistent topographical patterns to a depletion in the food pyramid, we are in a downward spiral. We are perhaps arriving at an untold, nail biting finish...unless we do what we can. The onus in on us, if we don't want to sink into anarchy.
From toppling governments to astray ecosystems, we are a dysfunctional race. Dysfunctional yes, but oh-so capable of great change. So pull up your socks and contribute. They are eschewing in change, and so should you. the balance of power rests in you hands and your hands alone.Granted, it is unnerving but we dug our own grave..
