Watch this ridiculous web series at your own risk:Breathe, into the shadows

  A review.
I'll be honest. The minute I found out that it starred Abhishek Bachchan, I was all in. Thirty
minutes in, this preposterous web series goes haywire. There are very interesting subplots,
but they haven't been utilized into the main story-line. It tries to salvage a semblance of a
story, granted I was hooked on to it but felt a sense of emptiness and couldn't connect with
any of the characters on screen at all. Abhishek Bachchan is probably the only saving grace
of the entire show. The 44 year old star seamlessly and gracefully carries the burden of both
Avinash and J with equal aplomb and dignity.

The crux of the story deals with a run of the mill psychiatrist named Avinash Sabharwal(Abhishek Bachchan) and his wife Aba(Nithya Menen) who live a very normal upper middle class life in the heart of Delhi.

Their goody two shoes Princess of a daughter named Siya gets mysteriously kidnapped by a
masked assailant. What ensues is a really convoluted hide and seek game between the
Sabharwal and the kidnapper. There were countless means wherein the story could have
made sense but much to my chagrin, it fell flat on its face. The concept of the show is
something dabbled with previously, lending to great buildup but poor execution. The
scientific possibilities are well drawn out but once again, this haphazard dialogue delivery
and weak story-line ruins it all. It is essentially a tale of facing your own demons, literally and
figuratively. The idea piques your interests and lures you in, much akin to a honeybee drawn
to nectar. That's one redeeming factor of the web series.
Abhishek Bachchan's Breathe: Into The Shadows Co-star Amit Sadh ...
All the characters bring their A-game in this psychological thriller of sorts, but failing
miserably to bring weight towards other aspects central to the story. For eg: the psyche of
the mind of Avinash and his alter ego J are left completely ambiguous to the viewers. His
fate at the end is also not clearly decided or sealed. Spoiler alert: Avinash isn't treated of the
mental condition. It manifests more strongly and takes full control of his body.
The story of a young girl with no street smarts whatsoever gets picked up by a kidnapper
who poses various challenges for the duo(Avinash and Aba) to undertake, if they want to
see their daughter. Yes, hold your horse people. The kidnapper is none other than our very own
likeable Abhishek Bachchan. Yep, I struggle to comprehend the trauma that led the father to
kidnap his own daughter and in the process, undertake challenges related to his own ulterior
motive?!
Breathe Into the Shadows: Abhishek Bachchan shows us his dark side ...
Then you have a seemingly boring tirade of episodes that showcases Avinash's childhood
and how his other personality(essentially a figment of his imagination) was born. Yes it is all
a big sob story that really wasn't necessary for the story.
The divulging of Abhishek Bachchan's character as the culprit himself and how he wades
through troubled waters to find his daughter is a good premise and an inspiring watch . This
is isn't a review but a cautionary tale. Be guarded and have your wits about you. The jolt that
this web series delivers is just shocking, to say the least. Promising characters but a very
faulty outcome. You might need to consult your shrink(psychiatrist ) after braving through
this storm. Watch this at your own risk. It is preposterous and bizarre from the get-go, but

here's to hoping that Abhishek Bachchan's warm presence puts you in a trance and makes
you forget just how shoddy the web series is.
