Where food meets magic:a review

Well folks i give it to you that a mere restaurant named CTR(Central Tiffin Room) has been all the rage with Bangalore denizens. Good lord, it is literal heaven on Earth. Scientists still can't seem to grasp the secret ingredient used in their flagship Masala Dosas(a secret between you and me-it's love). My first brush with this fortress of solitude was when I read a remark made by Deepika Padukone about frequenting this dosa joint when she visits Bangalore. She proclaimed it as her favorite place to have dosas. Well, you know the adage-"Curiosity killed the cat". And it did, big time.

Located in the one of the busiest part of Bangalore, the heart of Malleshwaram houses this incredible dosa joint. From whipping benne(butter) dosas with aplomb, this place rose to popularity and fame faster than Jack climbing the beanstalk. Their dosas sell like hot cakes(which is ironic, considering the fact that they don't sell cakes in CTR) and their homely ambience draws you in, much like a moth to a flame.

Their tantalizing food that remains on your taste buds, has even lured foreigners for a quick sampling of its finest Kesari bath(a sweetened delicacy) and Dosa. From the first moment that I visited the small albeit cramped restaurant, I could feel the jitters running down my spine, as it didn't resemble the gourmet,high-end restaurants that I was acclimatized to. But  habit wore me down and when the crispy, delicately cooked dosas touched my lips, they created primal and subliminal sensations that you could only hope to experience. A garnish of the Kesari bath into this crazy mix and you have yourselves an incredible YELP rating as well.

The service is extremely prompt and worth the wait. Sure, it doesn't really compare to your MTR(Mavalli Tiffin Room) but you are in for a treat. It holds up and makes sure that your taste buds are satisfied. Hogging down one small paper benne dosa was an anticlimactic experience for me, but the addition of the kesaribath alongside, it leaves you wanting more.It really is par excellence. The service is passable but once again, that's the price of good food, i guess.

Be it a rough, long day in the office or a weekend getaway plan, CTR caters to the inner foodie in you.Give it a shot and trust me, it won't disappoint. With it's very reasonable prices to its ideal location and finally to its U.S.P(Unique selling point)-the lip-smacking, finger-licking food served, it really is a surreal, immersive experience etched in my mind. With its many visitors and food aficionados ambling by, service is going to be slammed, more often than not. But this jam-packed experience is something that drives many a horde of Bangaloreans to it's arms. So give in and be ready to embrace the warmth of human companionship, good food, a few laughs and good conversations.

I swear by this joint and M.T.R as it offers an experience like no Domino's or McDonald's offers. It is not so much a food joint as much as it is a time-honored tradition which attracted old timers like my dad's father and even his family. This behemoth of a restaurant has a burgeoning reputation to uphold and it surely delivers, smack dab right in the soul of good ol' Malleshwaram, for you and your family's convenience.  Its salient feature are that it doesn't burn a hole on your pocket and you get to spend a grateful morning having the best sensible breakfast. You go for the dosa, you stay for the dosa.Period.

It isn't food that they churn, it is raw emotion. It has stood the test of time.
